We sold the computing to power the cloud, and shared the earnings with our customers.

Lower Your Carbon Footprint

Replaced conventional cloud computing that adds carbon to our atmosphere.

Used the same electricity, and carbon footprint, to compute as the home already used to heat.

By computing to heat, a Cloud Heater could offset up to 30 lb of CO2 per day.

Free to Customers

Cloud Heaters paid for themselves, so customers didn't have to.

We recycled used cloud computing equipment so we could lease Cloud Heaters at no cost to customers.

Customers connected a Cloud Heater to their home WiFi, and it computed whenever it heated.

Every Cloud Heater included a MERV-13 air filter, running 24/7 to help remove allergens, dust, smoke, and even some virus-scale particles.

About Heat with Benefits

Heat with Benefits LLC (2019–2023) designed, built, and operated Cloud Heaters: IoT space heaters that turned the electricity used for home heating into useful cloud computing. A scalable AWS back end managed the fleet of deployed heaters. The company was founded and run by William C. DeLeeuw, and it closed in 2023.
